Your Airplane Patents archive blew me away -- love it.
It made me think of Richard Feynman and the post WWII brainstorming committee to propose peaceful nuke applications. They initially envisioned nuclear airplane flight. I think they also proposed using fission for plowing fields and electric power plants -- some ideas got farther along than others!
