International Air Lines of the United States

Pan American Airways is the international air transport system of the United States.

Through directly connecting schedules with the domestic air lines at Miami, Florida, and Brownsville, Texas, Pan American spees air mail, passengers and express to any commercial center in the Caribbean with 2 1/2 days and to the most distant capital in South America within 7 days.

Over a network of 32,000 miles of airways Pan American has developed and has in service 147 land or marine airports, has established machine shops and overhaul bases, and a private network of 78 ground radio control and weather stations for the maintenance of American's international air transport service to 32 countries.

In the 5 years since the first international service was established between Miami and Havana, nearly a quarter of a million passengers have traveled some seventy-three million miles and twelve million pounds of mail and cargo have been carribe by the Pan American Airways System, with 99.678% of all flights completed "on schedule."
